On March 13, 2013, the 115 cardinals of the Holy Roman Catholic Church elected the 266th Pope or the last Pope according to the prophecy of St. Malachy. Now his name is not Peter the Roman but, he is of Italian background and Buenos Aires his home town is considered to be the Rome of South America because the city has a very large Italian population. Also, Bergoglio’s father was an Italian immigrant and railway worker from the region around Turin in Italy, but what is more interesting is that Pope Francis 1 is the very first Jesuit ever to be elected Pope. He could be the black Pope spoken in St. Malachy prophecy.
According to Wikipedia:
The Society of Jesus (Latin: Societas Iesu, S.J., SJ or SI) is a Christian male religious order of the Roman Catholic Church. The members are called Jesuits and are also known colloquially as “God’s Marines”, these being references to founder Ignatius of Loyola’s military background and members’ willingness to accept orders anywhere in the world and live in extreme conditions.
An CNN Vatican analyst John Allen said that Pope Francis 1
choice of papal name was “the most stunning” choice and “precedent shattering.” Because it was the first time that a Pope used the name Francis. The name harks back to one of the most venerated figures in the Roman Catholic Church, St. Francis of Assisi. Allen described the name of Pope Francis as “the most stunning” choice and “precedent shattering.” “There are cornerstone figures in Catholicism” such as St. Francis, Allen said. Figures of such stature as St. Francis seem “irrepeatable — that there can be only one Francis,” he added.
However, maybe Pope Francis 1 did not have St Francis in mind, maybe he was honoring one of the original founders of the The Society of Jesus, Francis Borja or the original black Pope.
The St. Malachy prophecy said that Peter the Roman:
In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop].
Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The Society of Jesus can be thought of as the military arm of the Holy Roman Church.
