The Matrix Box

Written by Mel Brake

I was born in my mother’s box

We lived boxed in

In Philadelphia row home

I played in a child’s square box

4 by 4 and hard cement pavements

My food is located in an ice box

I eat for square meals – another box

The tv is not a tube but another box

But my cable shows are produced by home box office

Superman who was an alien change from a human inside of

A public telephone box

The planet I live on has four planes, four oceans, four seasons and four hemispheres

Like a box floating in space

I drove to work in a box

With four wheels

When my box broke down

I rode in a larger public box

I was reborn in a church box

Jesus was my savior

Although he freed himself

From a stone box

I celebrate his birthday by

Giving gifts in box sets

I still believe that he could

Rescue me from my matrix box

A cubicle with a telephone umbilical cord

And a dark overlord who control me from

A watchtower box

For fun I would dance on a square linoleum box

So small that I would bump and grind into other boxes

For sporting and entertainment event

I watch inside a super box

I moved outside the city

To fulfill my dream of living in a better box

My dream was to move to a into a larger one

With white picket fence and a lawn

But my new box was smaller than my

Former home box and slighter bigger than my work box

But I live next to a cemetery and I image that would

Be my final box read over by the Bible

The first box
